Chuck's Marina has been a cornerstone of Lake Martin life for over six decades. What began in 1961 as Thompson's — a modest ship store offering fuel services — has grown into one of Alabama's most beloved lakeside destinations. The marina found its identity when Chuck Williams took ownership in the '70s, and it entered a new era of growth when Greg Harris stepped in as owner in 1993. Greg's personal connection deepened when he met his wife, Jane, at the marina in 2001, and together they've continued to build a place that blends rich tradition with modern energy.
At the heart of today's Chuck's Marina is Chuckwalla's Pizzeria, a culinary landmark capable of producing up to 2,700 pizzas daily. Whether you're pulling up by boat or arriving by car, the pizzeria offers both dine-in and call-ahead ordering. Guests can also unwind at the bar with beer and wine, and enjoy live music every weekend afternoon — local talent that fills the lakeside air and turns every visit into a celebration.
Beyond the food, Chuck's ship store keeps boaters fully equipped with snacks, beverages, and boat accessories. The store also carries a popular line of exclusive T-shirts — and this season, owner Jane Harris is debuting a fresh collection including Dri-Fit tees, sweatshirts, and hoodies.
With 17,000 Facebook followers and a spirit that keeps people coming back, Chuck's Marina is where tradition, great food, and lakeside fun all come together.
