Stillwaters Golf is open to the public. The Highlands, originally known as the Traditions Course when it first opened, earned a spot on Golf Digest’s list of best courses back in 1997. Designed by Kurt Sandness, president of SKAMP Golf Design in North Carolina and Minnesota, the course combines aesthetic beauty with strategic challenges, creating an inviting and enjoyable golf experience surrounded by nature’s splendor.
Now under Keith Hiett's ownership, The Highlands has never looked more impressive. The course features lush, meticulously maintained greens and rolling fairways complemented by well-placed bunkers. Daily care and attention ensure the course remains in top condition, offering a pristine and rewarding golfing environment.
The Tradition Golf Course, a Par 72 layout, stretches 6,906 yards from the back tees, skillfully winding through the picturesque hills of Alabama. With over 200 feet of elevation changes throughout the course, it offers a dynamic and scenic challenge for golfers of all skill levels.
Thanks to additional tee options, The Tradition now features five levels of difficulty—ladies, seniors, executive, member, and championship—making it an ideal choice for any golfer seeking a memorable round.
The 18th hole concludes with a stunning view, as the expansive StillWaters Clubhouse overlooks the breathtaking Alabama woodlands and rolling hills, creating an unforgettable finish to your game.
